Water is one of the basic requirements for life on the Earth. While there is plenty of it on our planet, it is not equally distributed. The availability of water resources, the purity or rather the pollution of water, are major global issues.
Scientists from the Department of Sanitary and Ecological Engineering at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the CTU are dealing with water in cities: making water safe and making water management as environmentally friendly as possible. Doc. Mgr. Jana Nábělková, Ph.D. focuses on the study of focuses on the study of pollutants in watercourses.
In the next episode of Srdcem stavaři, we talked to her about, for example, how sanitary and ecological engineering is related to civil engineering, what can be considered as a pollutant, how and where water quality and the occurrence of pollutants in it is studied, or what instruments researchers use in their work in laboratories directly at the Faculty of Civil Engineering.
