Professor Zahra Sharif Khodaei obtained her PhD from Faculty of Civil Engineering, Czech Technical University in Prague in numerical modelling of functionally graded materials. Presently based at Imperial College London she conducts research at the Department of Aeronautics.
Her research focuses on structural health monitoring of composite structures and it is carried out in collaboration with industry and academia, with support from UK industry, European Union projects and, more recently, the European Space Agency.
She is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and Women’s Engineering Society. In May this year, in collaboration with the Department of Mechanical Engineering, she ran a multi-day course in Prague at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, CTU.
