The new Troja pedestrian bridge in Prague connecting Troja and C\u00edsa\u0159sk\u00fd island replaced the original bridge which collapsed in the year 2017. The bridge over the main branch of the Vltava River took almost a year to be created, the construction started in November 2019. The structure is 256 meters in length and 4 meters in width. If necessary, even a car can fit onto the bridge. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
While the previous bridge was made of reinforced prestressed concrete, the new one is fully made of steel and mounted 1.5 meters higher than before. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The whole construction is permanently monitored by special detectors which are placed in areas above the supports of the bridge. This allows constant monitoring of the condition of the footbridge and consequently analyzing if the footbridge behaves according to the predictions. Also, meteorological sensors for temperature monitoring and laser measuring devices are placed here. The data is consequently sent to the monitoring center which is situated at the faculty of Civil Engineering of CTU in Prague. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
All the measuring equipment was purchased by the CTU as a part of the project MPO \u010cR CZ.01.1.02\/0.0\/0.0\/17_176\/0015739<\/strong>: \u201eCentralizovan\u00fd integrovan\u00fd syst\u00e9m online kontinu\u00e1ln\u00edho dlouhodob\u00e9ho monitoringu stavebn\u00edch objekt\u016f\u201c from the Operation program \u201cPodnik\u00e1n\u00ed a inovace pro konkurenceschopnost\u201d.
